American Dream in the Media
1- Can you think of any American Dream- themed books or movies that presented a character who achieved, and therefore struggled to achieve his or her American Dream.
There are many references to the American dream in the media. One that comes to mind when i think about it is, the movie, Pursuit of Happyness. In the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness, Will Smith struggles to support his family during a time of depression. He runs out of money and becomes homeless. Meanwhile he fights to achieve his dream of becoming a stockbroker. He achieves his goal through the all of the obstacles that he is faced with. In my opinion this is the ultimate Achievement of the American dream.
