Intellectual Apocolypse - Are YOU A SUCKER?

Are you “sucker”?

· Do you trust the information given to you by others or from the internet to the point that you do not question whether or not it is right or even true?

· Are you the one who copies another’s answers for the points and doesn’t even think or care to make sure what you copied is actually correct? or are you an individual and have your own answers or opinions?

o Is it because you don’t care or have lost your desire to think for yourself?

o Is it the fault of your dependency on technology to think for you?

Intellectual Apocolypse - WITHOUT THE INTERNET??

“…without an internet connection,” do YOU “flop”?
  • That is, can you handle coming up with your own solution or very simply can you recall something without looking somewhere to find it?
  • Have you stopped memorizing information because you rely on the internet accessibility too much?
  • Do you draw a blank when asked to describe something, just “can’t find the word” for it or are limited to generic words?

Intellectual Apocolypse - WRITING SCORES!

  1. Give your reasoning as to why “Writing scores…have declined every year since writing was first measured (on the S.A.T.) in 2006). What or who do you blame?

Our Paradigm Shifts:

There are moments in our lives when something occurs that simply changes our outlook on life, our "paradigm".  And depending on the strength of our perception, we may or may have not been easily swayed.

What did you experience, witness, or learn about in your life (simple or severe) that generated a paradigm shift in your perspective AND how have you changed our life as a result?

Dickinson poem

"There is another sky"
Emily Dickinson-1851

There is another sky,
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields -
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum;
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!

What is your interpretation of the poem "There is Another Sky"?
